Job summary

Vancouver Pile Driving Ltd. (VanPile) is seeking an experienced Surveyor to lead field surveys for marine and heavy civil projects in North Vancouver, BC. You will draft and update drawings in AutoCAD, support dredging, and coordinate survey logistics on multiple projects, while upholding strict safety standards.

The role requires 3–5 years of surveying experience, GPS/Total Station proficiency, and a valid driver’s license, with Civil 3D being an asset. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Geomatics Engineering or Surveying.
  • 3–5 years of surveying experience; marine or heavy civil experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with GPS and total station surveying technology.
  • Experience using AutoCAD; Civil 3D is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Commitment to safety and ability to work in varied weather and marine conditions.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Surveyor at VanPile, you’ll play an essential role in executing and supporting field operations across a wide range of projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

What You Bring
  • Diploma or degree in Geomatics Engineering or Surveying.
  • 3–5 years of experience in surveying—marine or heavy civil experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency with GPS and total station surveying technology.
  • Experience using AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience is an advantage).
  • Strong computer and technical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Hydrographic survey experience (singlebeam, multibeam, LiDAR).
  • Experience working with Trimble equipment.
  • Small boat operation experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Salary: $70 - $95k per annum

The actual salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on job‑related factors including relevant experience, years of experience, qualifications, internal equity, and Carlson Construction Group’s compensation policy.
