Job summary

DOF Subsea Canada is seeking a detail oriented Survey Engineer / Technician to join our offshore survey team, reporting to the Project Manager and collaborating with offshore and onshore personnel in a dynamic environment.

The role supports ongoing multiyear international and local projects with an expected 4 to 6 week rotation, performing installation, testing, calibration and maintenance of survey equipment while ensuring safety and effective communication with the Party Chief.

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Education in Electronics / Engineering.
  • Experience can compensate for lack of formal competency.
  • Experience within offshore Oil & Gas/Renewables Industry is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Document Control Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain survey equipment throughout offshore operations.
  • Troubleshoot faulty equipment; provide inventory listings, and equipment fault reports.
  • Responsible for the installation and testing of survey equipment and systems, as well as the maintenance of survey equipment and systems.
  • Setup networks and interface survey sensors to the online system.
  • Familiar with serial data protocols, ethernet comms, fibre optics.
  • Make up and terminate all types of cabling for interfacing; antennas, networks, serial data, video, subsea sensors, etc.
  • Shall notify the Party Chief / Project Manager of any non‑serviceable survey equipment.
  • Commission, calibrate and decommission all survey equipment to the satisfaction of the Offshore Manager/Party Chief.
  • Ensure the safe operation of survey equipment and systems.
  • Accountable for the offshore tracking of project equipment and for the demobilization and shipping of survey equipment.
  • Must support the online surveyor during operations.
  • Maintain equipment logs and inventories.
  • Prepare and maintain cabling and interface diagrams.
  • Demonstrate good problem‑solving practices.
  • Communicate, on a daily basis, with the Party Chief.

Survey Engineer / Technician

DOF Subsea Canada is currently seeking a detailed oriented and client focused individual for this position. A key to success for this position is the ability to collaborate with offshore and onshore personnel. The Survey Engineer / Technician will report to the Project Manager and will work in a dynamic environment to learn and grow your career.

We are looking to expand our survey team to support ongoing long‑term multiyear international and local projects with an expected 4 to 6 week rotation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain survey equipment throughout offshore operations.
