Qualifications

  • Willingness to escort patients via ambulance services when required.

Responsibilities

  • Promote health and assess, provide care, and treat surgical patients.
  • Manage and care for patients with epidural analgesia.
  • Advocate for patient safety and adherence to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours.

Skills

Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario registration or eligibility
Physical Assessment course
Current surgical experience with a minimum of two years
Venipunctures to establish an IV
IV medications below the drip chamber
Central line care
Management and care of patients with epidural analgesia
Management and care of P.C.A. pumps
Maintenance of TPN
Management of Negative Pressure Therapy
Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Leadership problem solving and decision making
Interest and experience in patient education
Current BCLS

Education

Baccalaureate Degree in nursing
