A healthcare authority in Canada is seeking a Surgical Care Nurse to assess and provide nursing care for patients. The ideal candidate will have registration as an RN in British Columbia and experience in surgical care. Responsibilities include working in a multidisciplinary team and ensuring quality patient care. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Working as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Surgical Care Nurse functions as an experienced self-directed surgical care nurse by assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients.
Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant; and
Post-basic education in surgical/ambulatory care nursing on a unit specific basis; or
An equivalent combination of education and training.
Up to two (2) years recent, related experience on a unit specific basis.
