Job summary

Alamos Gold Inc. is hiring a Surface Labourer for the Island Gold District in Dubreuilville, Ontario. You will support the Site Services Team with labour, maintenance, repair, and service tasks in a safety‑driven environment.

The role requires experience in maintenance planning or heavy equipment, SAP PM familiarity, and strong organizational skills. Camp accommodations and travel allowances are provided as part of a 7-on/7-off schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in mobile equipment maintenance planning or high-level mechanical experience in open pit mining.
• Strong proficiency with SAP PM (notifications, work orders, BOMs, task lists, material reservations).
• Understanding of heavy mobile equipment (haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, drills).
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and parts diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Surface Labourer will assist the Site Services Team with labour, maintenance, repair and service activities as directed.
• Perform minor repairs and inspections on facilities and equipment.
• Support carpentry and installation tasks as needed.
• Assist with safety checks, housekeeping and utility maintenance.
• Follow Alamos’ safety rules and procedures at all times.

Role Overview:

The Surface Labourer will be responsible for assisting the Site Services Team with a full range of labour, maintenance, repair, and service activities. The incumbent will use considerable judgment in making decisions and be able to perform all tasks in accordance with Alamos’ workplace safety rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing minor repairs of locks, doors, walls
• Checking functionality of safety systems (fire alarms, fire extinguishers)
• Mowing lawns, cutting brush
• Installing appliances
• Assisting Carpenters with projects and repairs
• Minor carpentry (cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials)
• Snow removal (manual, tractor, plow truck)
• Cleaning and maintaining sidewalks
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required

• Experience in mobile equipment maintenance planning or high-level mechanical experience in open pit mining.
• Strong proficiency with SAP PM (notifications, work orders, BOMs, task lists, material reservations).
• Understanding of heavy mobile equipment (haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, drills).
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and parts diagrams.

Preferred

• Minimum 2-3 years’ in construction industry or building trades
• Experience operating hand and power tools
• Experience performing manual duties
• Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
• Ability to thrive in an environment of change; must be creative and flexible

Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements:

• Role is physically demanding
• Must be capable of working in adverse conditions
• Must be capable of lifting/carrying up to 25 kg, walking on rough terrain, standing for prolonged periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights, crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, operating equipment
