Job summary

A multi-service agency in Ontario is seeking a Supported Living Service Lead to coordinate and provide direct care for children and youth. The role requires a Child and Youth Care diploma and over five years of relevant experience. Job description

Linck Child, Youth and Family Supports (“Linck”) requires one (1) Supported Living Service Lead. This is a Contract, full-time position (70 hours per two-week pay period) beginning as soon as possible for a period of 6 months.

Hours of work will be scheduled in accordance with individual support and operational requirements. Hours of work may include afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be available to accept call-in shifts.

The Onsite Lead will provide coordination and direct care for children or youth; supporting their daily living, assisting them to achieve goals and increase personal capabilities. The Lead will also support service supervisor through the scheduling of staff, coordinating shift activities, menus, purchase of food and activity calendars in accordance with Ministry expectations of unlicensed placements.

Qualifications
  • Child and Youth Care diploma or relevant diploma and/or registration in the Social Service sector.
  • Over five (5) years and up to and including ten (10) years of related experience.
  • Current First Aid, CPR and CPI certificate.
  • Computer and keyboarding skills, extensive use of word-processing programs.
  • Tact and discretion is required to deal with or settle requests, interpreting or clarification of information with residents.
  • Deals with clients requiring motivation/emotional support.
  • A valid G driver’s license.
  • A reliable vehicle for use at work is required as well as a valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s License and insurance coverage.
  • The ability to communicate in French is an asset.
  • Preference will be given to persons with a strong understanding and extensive experience working with other cultures, heritages and traditions.
