Support Worker 1 - Abbotsford - Summer Position

The Support Worker - 1 assists persons served to live successfully in a group living setting, implementing the philosophy and values of Communitas. The Support Worker ensures that the physical, emotional, social, educational, and medical needs of the persons served are being met, with a view towards helping each person grow to their full potential.

Applicants must be available for a minimum of 2-3 shifts per week, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends. Please note that this is a summer position to provide vacation coverage. Time off requests cannot be accommodated.

Here's what we need from you:

  • Community Support Worker certificate or approved equivalent
  • A philosophy of service that is in line with Communitas’ Vision, Mission and Values
  • Familiar with and able to implement ‘Spirit of Gentleness’ principles
  • Ability to take initiative with creativity
  • Excellent teamwork skills, ability to maintain honest, direct and respectful relationships
  • Ability to receive direction as well as being able to work independently without supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possession of a valid Emergency First Aid Certificate with CPR (must maintain valid certification)
