Overview

As a Support Worker at Pacific Coast Family Services Inc., you will provide personalized care and assistance to individuals in their homes and communities, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life. Your role involves offering personal care, emotional support, companionship, and assistance with daily activities, while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Schedule

Weekend shifts / 4 hours per day

Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist with activities of daily living, including grooming, dressing, bathing, and mobility support.
  • Household Support: Help with light housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery shopping, laundry, and household organization.
  • Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversations, plan recreational activities, and provide emotional support to enhance well-being.
  • Community Involvement: Support individuals in participating in community activities and building relationships.
  • Safety & Documentation: Maintain a safe environment, document daily activities, and report changes in individuals' conditions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with family members, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure comprehensive care.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications preferred).
  • Experience in home or community-based care is an asset.
  • Compassionate, patient, and able to build trust with individuals.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of personal hygiene, housekeeping, and meal preparation.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs.
  • Physical stamina for mobility assistance and light lifting.
