Job summary

NBHCFSS in Fort St. James, BC is seeking a Support Worker to provide culturally grounded support for children, youth and families.

Reporting to the Cultural Supervisor, you will help deliver traditional practices and language programs, and develop life skills and social-emotional well-being. The role involves coordinating group activities with Elders and partners, supporting transportation and daily logistics, and maintaining records in line with agency standards.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Dakelh culture, history, and traditions.
  • Warm, relationship-focused communicator – comfortable working one-on-one and in groups.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficient in the use of computers (email, word processing).
  • Indigenous ancestry is an asset.

Job description

Support Worker
Fort St. James/Tache, BC

Nezul Be Hunuyeh is an Indigenous Child & Family Service Agency serving the communities of Nak’azdli Whut’en, Binche Whut’en, and Tl’azt’en Nation.

Reporting directly to the Cultural Supervisor, the Support Worker will play a pivotal role in providing support for traditional practices, and language to the children, youth, and families that NBHCFSS serves. The Support Worker will be instrumental in working with youth and families to develop life skills and enhance social-emotional well‑being. Your dedication to this role will contribute significantly by providing group programming opportunities to children, youth, and families. A full job description is available upon request.

Type: Permanent Full-Time (35hrs/wk.)

Wage Grid: $29.22 – $33.54 hourly with Competitive Benefits and Pension

Duties & Responsibilities
