Summary Of Position
Reporting to the facility General Manager and as part of the leadership team, the Support Services Manager oversees the daily delivery of Food, Housekeeping, and Laundry services, ensuring compliance with regulations and corporate standards. They provide supervision, guidance, and act as a role model for the Support Services staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate your team to achieve organizational goals.
- Develop professional relationships that support a positive organizational culture.
- Model organizational values and leadership behaviors.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to Food Services, housekeeping, and laundry.
- Manage assigned budgets and develop operational plans aligned with the facility's mission.
- Monitor performance indicators, analyze data, and report findings to management.
- Coordinate procurement activities, including ordering and inventory management.
- Hire, discipline, and evaluate staff following HR policies.
- Oversee staff orientation and ongoing training programs.
- Develop and modify menus to meet nutritional standards and resident preferences.
- Supervise food preparation and service, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Participate in department and facility meetings.
- Collaborate with other departments for special events and programs.
- Develop contingency plans for emergencies and service interruptions.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and promote resident safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized Nutrition and Food Services Management program.
- Membership or eligibility for membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management and/or registration as a Dietitian.
- Food Safe Level 1 certification; Level 2 is an asset.
- At least two years of supervisory experience in Support Services within a geriatric residential setting.
- Experience managing unionized staff is an asset.
- Current Serving It Right Certification.
- Successful completion of a vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check.
