Magellan Aerospace Limited in Kitchener seeks an Industrial Cleaner/Janitor to perform light cleaning across the facility and assist in our shipping/receiving department. The salary range for this position is $21.09/hr - $22.44/hr, depending on experience.

The role is a permanent position with primary cleaning duties and potential duties in logistics as needed, requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums.
• Ensure all cleaning operations adhere to health and safety procedures.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, change rooms, lunch rooms and other common areas.
• Notify management of deficiencies or needs for repair.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Light clearing of snow.
• Unpack products, verify paperwork to parts and assist with shipping/receiving.
• Pack and protect products for shipping and assist with loading/unloading of trucks.
• Pick orders for production and work with Shipping/Receiving managers.

Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Kitchener has a new opportunity for an Industrial Cleaner/ Janitor. The successful incumbent will be responsible for light cleaning throughout the facility, with the opportunity to assist in our shipping/receiving department.

The salary range for this position is $21.09/hr - $22.44/hr, depending on experience.

Reason for position: New position

Primary Responsibilities

This position is mainly janitorial, however if the business need arises the role will also assist in the logistics department of the facility.

• Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums
• Ensure all cleaning operations adhere to established health and safety procedures
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, change rooms, lunch rooms and other common areas
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repair
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
• Light Clearing of snow

Secondary Responsibilities

• Unpack products, verify paperwork to parts (raw material & hardware)
• Pack and protect product for shipping
• Assisting with loading and unloading of trucks
• Pick orders for production floor for raw material, and assembly
• Work very closely with Shipping Administrator and Manager of Shipping/Receiving
• Any other duties that may assign

Position Requirements

• Must be able to read, write and understand English, with the ability to accept and follow both verbal and written instructions
• Physical fitness and dexterity
• Knowledge of cleaning and janitorial work
• Strong knowledge of health and safety policy and practices
