Job description
Overview Of The Role

This position will ensure the availability of manufactured & procured products into Regional Distribution Centers to satisfy regional customer requirements. Working within the Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) group, this position uses a companywide integrated plant scheduling and procurement tool to provide production planning, finished goods procurement, and materials coordination services. The position involves managing of inventory and scheduling of plant functions remotely. The successful candidate must demonstrate a solid understanding of procurement and supply chain principles.

You will make contributions that matter
  • Manage inventory levels based on best inventory practices to ensure on time and in full delivery
  • Maintain effective lines of communication between multiple departments
  • Continuously monitor inventory levels of finished goods and replenish when necessary
  • Provide production schedules and orders to plant and production management and monitor the completion of orders
  • Work with the national transport group to assist in the coordination of inter-branch movement of finished goods
  • Responsible for the effective administration of all purchase orders
  • Coordinate ordering and stock levels during introduction/de-listing of product to minimize shortages/disposals
  • Identify any planning issues that create shortages or disposals and rectify in a timely manner
  • Continuously analyze and improve upon the local supply chain to reduce costs and improve service
  • Facilitate/coordinate interdepartmental projects and teams
  • Help to support and maintain Saputo’s quality and standards
  • Other duties as assigned
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications
  • Certificate in Supply Chain/Operations Management, Purchasing designation or equivalent experience
  • Post-Secondary education preferred
  • Excellent computer skills and attention to detail – Microsoft Word, Excel, Office
  • Experience in Maestro operating system
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to perform effectively in a fast paced environment
  • A demonstrated track record of effective problem solving and decision making
