Job description
The Company

At The Little Campus, we know that little ones need a lot of TLC. That’s why our curriculum is loaded with tender loving care.

The Little Campus, founded in 2020, is a state-of-the-art Early Learning Centre located in Etobicoke, part of Toronto’s west end. The great thing about being the new kid on the block? We get to breathe new life into the industry, and one of our top priorities is how we treat our staff.

Our founder & president began her career in education, so it probably won’t come as a surprise that she has a huge amount of respect for those in the teaching profession and a true understanding of what this job entails. So you can be confident that you’ll be a valued part of the TLC team. Not to mention, your health and happiness are really, really important to us. Plus, we’re invested in making our campus a fun place to work… because as much as we love TGIF, we want you to LFTMT (look forward to Mondays too).

Mission & Values

As caregivers and educators, TLC’s mission is to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all children, one that fosters a child’s natural desire to explore, discover, create and become a lifelong learner.

At TLC, we believe in the ‘Whole Child Approach,’ a teaching style that ensures each child is healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged daily. Our staff works together to provide a warm, nurturing atmosphere.

We know we’re repeating ourselves, but: Our experienced director, early childhood educators, and classroom assistants are valued and respected members of the TLC family. We love them as much as they adore the children in their classrooms! (And yes, loving kids is a must-have for this role.)

The role

Let us take you through a typical day at TLC: After you arrive on campus (a little early!), you’ll take a moment to catch up with your colleagues, discuss the day’s lesson plans, and make sure the classroom is ready to go. As per TLC policies, you’ll kindly agree to store your cell phone in your locker during working hours. We don’t think it’s too much to ask to be fully present while in the presence of little ones!

Class time will be a mix of free play, outdoor time, rest, age‑appropriate learning, healthy foods, and community involvement. Set your social butterfly free while helping the classroom ECE organize local excursions and seek out opportunities for children to participate in and contribute to community events… Love reading? Then you’ll love watching early readers thrive under TLC’s very own Early Literacy program.

As the day goes on, you’ll be observing and documenting children’s involvement and interactions, and helping our regular classroom staff with diverse tasks.

You’ll also be responsible for helping create a secure environment for the little ones in your care, ensuring no child is left unattended, and that all children are kept clean and safe. This includes supervising washroom routines and encouraging proper hand hygiene.

And finally, get ready to help implement our developmentally based program into the day, weaving the Whole Child Approach into each activity, and gently encouraging each child’s curiosity and participation as you go.

And you’ll do it all with tender loving care.

About you

If you are...

  • A team player who demonstrates a high degree of professionalism in everything you do
  • A lifelong learner with a passion for developmental learning

  • Caring, compassionate and creative

… we want to hear from you!
