The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board serves approximately 12,000 students, employs over 1,400 full‑time equivalent staff, and covers a geographical area of more than 16,000 square kilometers (Whitney in the North, Picton in the South, Trenton in the West, and Kingston in the East). The ESL Instructor provides English as a Second Language instruction to adult immigrants in all aspects of the English language with an emphasis on oral communication. The Instructor communicates subjects about Canadian culture including Canadian history, geography, customs/traditions, idioms and laws to assist them with their integration into Canadian society.
