Overview

About the Role

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of goods and materials across multiple warehouses. You will play a critical role in forecasting demand, planning production and managing inventory levels to meet customer needs while minimizing costs. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Planner is essential in maintaining balance between supply and demand, ensuring timely delivery and supporting overall business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage global inventories, ensure adequate stock levels to meet customer demand and production requirements while minimizing costs and overstock situations.
  • Demand Forecasting: Analyze sales patterns, customer demand, seasonal fluctuations and market trends to ensure optimal stock levels and adjust supply plans accordingly.
  • Production Order Management: Manage the production order process by purchasing components, scheduling production, and writing and receiving purchase orders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other teams to align strategies with business objectives; understand changes to customer demand and products. Work closely with logistics and warehouses on transfers and inbound shipments.
  • Performance Analysis: Gather and analyze data to prepare reports on inventory trends, forecasting accuracy and supply chain efficiency
  • Process Improvement: Identify and develop ways to improve internal practices to reduce surplus inventory, improve turns and be more cost effective.
  • Vendor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, production and warehouse partners.
Candidate Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field (or minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role)
  • Strong self-management – self-directed with the ability to deal with distraction, repetition, prioritization, fluctuations in workload and ambiguity
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data, identify trends and make informed decisions based on analysis
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and MS office applications
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
