Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Supply Chain Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement end-to-end supply chain strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on cost efficiency, lead-time reduction, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to forecast demand and plan materials accordingly.
- Manage supply chain risks by developing contingency plans and maintaining reliable supplier networks.
- Procurement & Vendor Management
- Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, components, and engineering services.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal cost and quality balance.
- Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
- Inventory & Logistics Management
- Oversee inventory levels to ensure material availability while minimizing holding costs.
- Optimize logistics and transportation strategies for inbound and outbound materials.
- Ensure timely delivery of parts, tools, and equipment to support engineering and production schedules.
- Implement systems for efficient warehouse management and materials tracking.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with design and engineering teams to understand technical requirements and ensure sourcing alignment.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) by managing early supplier engagement and prototyping material supply.
- Partner with finance to manage budgets, track expenditures, and analyze cost savings.
- Compliance & Sustainability
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Promote sustainability initiatives in procurement and logistics operations.
- Manage import/export compliance and documentation for global sourcing activities.
- Process Improvement & Systems
- Drive process optimization through Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Analyze supply chain data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
Skills / Experience Requirement
- Educational Background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management & Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
- Advanced certifications in project management or engineering leadership are a plus.
- Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering roles, supply chain, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management position.
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects from concept to production.
- Strong understanding of technical products, engineering workflows, or industrial services.
- Experience with quality control, supply chain management, and process improvement (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Technical Skills
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the company's products and markets.
