A regional school board in Canada is seeking Supply B.A.S.S. employees to support play-based programming for junior kindergarten to grade 6. Candidates must have a high school diploma and experience supervising children. Responsibilities include ensuring child safety, encouraging positive interactions, and following health guidelines. This position will include a need for valid first aid certification.

The Waterloo Region District School Board is currently seeking applications for Supply B.A.S.S. employees. The Board encourages all qualified applicants interested in this opportunity to apply. Supply B.A.S.S. employees will work alongside a Designated Early Childhood Educator (DECE) to support play-based programming for students in junior kindergarten to grade 6 who are registered in WRDSB’s Before and After school program to provide general student supervision.
Applications and supporting documentation stating qualifications and experience, and proof of Standard First Aid with CPR Level C/AED must be included in your portfolio.
The Successful Candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Background Check including the Vulnerable Sector, which must be received in Human Resources prior to the commencement of employment. Please note, the Board does not assume any costs associated with the Criminal Reference Check.
Social Insurance Number (SIN), date of birth, and proof of educational qualifications will be required at the time of an offer of employment.

Under staff screening and police record checks; Employees and educators working in licensed child care programs are required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check issued by a Police Service on or before every fifth anniversary after the date of the most recent vulnerable sector check. Educators working in Before and After School Programs are required to complete a request for VSC through your local police service (available online) and submit your original electronic copy to the Licensed Child Care Staff Record Site (LCCSR).
