Job summary

CMC Electronics is seeking a Supplier Quality Technician (mechanical profile) to join our hybrid Montréal team. You will apply specialized quality assurance expertise across electronics, mechanics, and avionics, with a focus on meeting drawings, standards, and procedures.

You will coordinate testing and verification, investigate quality issues, and drive corrective actions. A college degree in mechanics or related field and 3 years as a Technician (2 in QA) are required.

Qualifications

• College degree in mechanics or related field.
• Three years of experience as a Technician, including two in quality assurance.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, control and/or perform testing and verification of materials/components.
• Make decisions on acceptability of products, materials and performance per procedures and standards.
• Coordinate investigations on quality problems and recommend solutions.
• Generate Corrective Action Requests on appropriate forms.
• Organize Material Review Board meetings and coordinate corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Visit suppliers for process and product audits to improve performance.
• Write or modify quality assurance procedures, work instructions and standards.
• Perform quality audits.
• Participate in selecting sampling plans for inspection and testing.

The Supplier Quality Technician (mechanical profile), works under the minimum supervision of the Manager, Quality Assurance. Applies his/her specialized expertise in quality assurance, including one of the following fields: electronics, mechanics, avionics or other relevant specialized fields. His/her occasional contacts with external customers require an ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Works using detailed specifications (drawings, standards, procedures, work instructions, etc.) related to the area where he/she is assigned. Depending on the Department where he/she works, may perform the tasks below.

As a Supplier Quality Technician, Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Include

• Coordinating, controling and/or performing testing and verification of materials/components;
• Making decisions regarding the acceptability of products, materials and the work performance in reference with procedures and quality standards;
• Coordinating investigations on quality problems and recommending technical solutions;
• Generating Corrective Action Request on appropriate forms;
• Organizing Material Review Board meetings and coordinating with other employees corrective actions to be taken in case of non-conformance with specifications, drawings, processes, etc.;
• Visiting suppliers for process and product audits in order to improve their performance;
