Supplier Industrialization Engineers are responsible for critical component development, quality management, continuous improvement, and qualification activities at suppliers.
The job requires effective communication at all levels, both with internal and external teams, conducting failure analysis, and leading process control activities for critical components. Develop suppliers by teaching best practices for manufacturing, quality, and engineering, delivering on time quantities of high-quality component parts
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience with exceptional technical ability.
5+ years of assembly plant experience supporting Powertrain, Mechanical Systems, or similar in roles like Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Deep understanding of Quality Systems, including PPAP/APQP processes.
Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex issues in a concise, straightforward manner. Familiarity with SPC, GD&T, and data analysis is a must.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and influence supplier activities at the management level.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong team-building skills, capable of collaborating effectively with suppliers, peers, and cross-functional teams.
Solid grasp of manufacturing processes, material flow, process changes, and quality control practices.
High attention to detail with a strong focus on customer service and delivering quality outcomes.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, while also knowing when to seek guidance.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time to engage directly with suppliers.
Proficient in GD&T and 3D CAD software, with a preference for experience in CATIA.
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $106,700 - $175,700/yr. The compensation package offered will be determined by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
