Job summary

ENWIN Utilities Ltd. is seeking a Supervisor, Water Distribution in Windsor, ON.

The role administers staff, materials, equipment and contractor resources for the potable water distribution system and oversees on-site operations to ensure safe, efficient completion of projects. The successful candidate will hold a Class 3 Water Distribution Certificate, have 4+ years as an operator (OIC experience a plus), and demonstrate strong leadership, planning, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ministry of Environment Class 3 Water Distribution Certificate.
• Minimum of 4 years experience working as an operator; OIC experience is an asset.
• Experience leading a crew is an asset.
• Knowledge of Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and regulations.
• Ability to resolve problems, assess needs and delegate work to motivate others.
• Demonstrated project planning skills, ability to multi-task and oversee several projects.
• Ability to make on-site decisions to safely complete projects and emergent work.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of computer concepts (Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP, GIS mapping and eLog, eCompliance, GeoTab, Work Manager, LIMS).
• Experience working in a unionized environment considered asset.
• Valid Class "G" Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Administer staff, material, equipment and contractor resources in the inspection, maintenance and construction of the potable water distribution system.
• Plan and supervise the Water Distribution work area to ensure timely, accurate completion.
• Attend pre-construction meetings and monitor training progress to meet requirements.
• Monitor safety practices and provide on-site instructions and recommendations.
• Organize and monitor response to emergent issues and provide detailed activity reports.
• Serve as Operator in Charge (OIC) over the assigned subsystem and assist as Overall Responsible Operator as needed.

ENWIN Utilities Ltd., is currently accepting applications for the vacant position of:

Supervisor, Water Distribution

Location: Windsor, ON

Reporting to the Manager, Water Operations, the successful applicant will be directly responsible for the administration of staff, material, equipment and contractor resources utilized in the inspection, maintenance and construction of the potable water distribution system. The incumbent will plan and supervise the work of the Water Distribution area to ensure the work is completed accurately and efficiently while minimizing the inconvenience to customers. The duties include but are not limited to: maintaining the potable water distribution system; attending pre-construction meetings; monitoring training progress to ensure training requirements are met; monitoring work practices and adherence to safety procedures; providing ongoing on-site job instructions and recommendations; organizing and monitoring response to emergent issues; providing detailed reports on activities related to this role. The Supervisor, Water Distribution is assigned as Operator in Charge (OIC) over the assigned sub system in compliance with Ontario Regulation 128/04 of the Safe Drinking Water Act. The successful applicant must also be able to substitute as the Overall Responsible Operator (ORO) on an "as needed" basis, have overall knowledge of the status of all potable water distribution system projects/jobs and respond to any questions from the Ministry of Environment office. The successful candidate may periodically be required to be on-call and will be required to work after hours when emergent issues arise.

Salary Range for Qualified Candidates: $109,856 – $121,420
