Halifax Water invites applicants for a Regular Full-time Supervisor, Wastewater Treatment in the Operations Department. The role oversees operations, maintenance and budget for wastewater facilities to protect public health and the environment.
Candidates will bring a two-year technical college program, Level III NS NSEL certification, and five years of supervisory wastewater experience. Proficiency with SCADA and related systems, plus strong communication skills, is expected.

Education: Minimum two year community college technical program applicable to Water or Wastewater Treatment or related discipline; a Level III Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Labour (NSEL) certification (or equivalent) as well as specialized courses in water/wastewater treatment. A combination of industry recognized wastewater treatment, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or instrumentation training and experience may be considered.
Experience: Five years related experience in the wastewater treatment industry with demonstrated supervisory ability.
Valid NS Drivers License and willingness to use own vehicle and be willing to use their own vehicle in accordance with the Mileage Policy.

This position is directly responsible for the operations, maintenance and budgetary management of Halifax Water wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure for the purpose of environmental protection, regulatory compliance, and public health. This position requires a high degree of decision making skill and requires working independently.
