What youll do

• Secure confidential railcar leasing agreements with North American providers.
• Analyze freight market trends and advise on pricing strategies and arbitrage opportunities.
• Monitor transportation and logistics developments to identify risks and opportunities.
• Stay current on regulations from railways and transportation agencies.
• Represent transportation strategies in internal and external meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with key railway contacts.
• Track business indicators and adjust plans to optimize fleet usage.
• Support freight claims for shipment damages or shortages.
• Assist with departmental budgeting and manage expenditures.
• Manage team HR functions including recruitment development and performance management.

What you bring to our team

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in transportation / logistics.
• Post-secondary degree in Business Administration Commerce or Agriculture.
• Level 2 CITT certification is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of the grain industry marketing and transportation processes.
• Understanding of country elevator operations.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage conflict effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal communication planning and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook) and other relevant software.
