What youll do
- Secure confidential railcar leasing agreements with North American providers.
- Analyze freight market trends and advise on pricing strategies and arbitrage opportunities.
- Monitor transportation and logistics developments to identify risks and opportunities.
- Stay current on regulations from railways and transportation agencies.
- Represent transportation strategies in internal and external meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with key railway contacts.
- Track business indicators and adjust plans to optimize fleet usage.
- Support freight claims for shipment damages or shortages.
- Assist with departmental budgeting and manage expenditures.
- Manage team HR functions including recruitment development and performance management.
What you bring to our team
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in transportation / logistics.
- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration Commerce or Agriculture.
- Level 2 CITT certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the grain industry marketing and transportation processes.
- Understanding of country elevator operations.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage conflict effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal communication planning and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook) and other relevant software.
