We are currently seeking a Sustaining Capital Accounting Supervisor to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
The position will be based in Greater Sudbury (Falconbridge), Ontario.
This is a full-time, permanent, staff position.
Work location is not accessible by public transportation.
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Controller, the Supervisor of Sustaining Capital Accounting is responsible for implementing and maintaining effective capital related financial reports, controls, and systems while ensuring that the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as Group accounting policies and procedures are followed in the process.
The incumbent will work in close association with personnel on sustaining capital projects teams from all sites, including engineering, maintenance and other departments within Sudbury Operations, Nickel Corporate head office, Global head office and other external stakeholders to fulfill their responsibilities.

The qualified candidate has a university degree or college diploma in Business and holds a recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA). The ideal candidate brings over 10 years of progressive industry experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of mining processes and sound business acumen from issue identification through to resolution.
It is essential that the incumbent possesses a solid working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as they relate to leases, property, plant and equipment, exploration and evaluation of mineral resources, intangible assets, and impairment of assets.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of computerized systems, particularly SAP, as they relate to financial reporting and fixed assets, and will be highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
