Job summary

Skeena Gold + Silver Limited operates a remote Eskay Creek mine site in northwestern British Columbia. The Snow Removal Supervisor will coordinate daily snow removal activities, supervise labourers, and ensure safe, efficient operations during winter conditions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of supervisory experience in snow removal or heavy industrial settings, a BC Mine Supervisor ticket, and a valid Class 5 licence. The role involves 15 days on/13 days off and site-based camp conditions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily snow removal activities across the site, including access roads, work areas, walkways, and other designated areas.
• Assign daily tasks and ensure adequate workforce coverage to meet operational requirements.
• Provide direction and support to labourers, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.
• Promote a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused team environment.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks, communicate work plans, and ensure crew members understand their responsibilities and hazards.
• Conduct hazard assessments and ensure compliance with company safety procedures, site rules, and environmental requirements.
• Ensure appropriate PPE is worn and safe work practices are followed throughout snow removal activities.
• Identify and address safety concerns, changing weather conditions, and operational hazards.
• Monitor work progress, assess priorities, and adjust resources as required to maintain safe site conditions.
• Coordinate the use of snow removal equipment, tools, and materials, ensuring they are maintained and used safely.
• Monitor the quality of completed work and ensure snow and ice are removed from designated areas promptly.
• Identify and address operational challenges, equipment issues, and scheduling conflicts to minimize disruptions.
• Maintain daily records of work completed, workforce activities, equipment issues, and progress.
• Report daily progress, safety concerns, and operational challenges to management.
• Communicate effectively with site personnel and other departments to coordinate priorities.

Job Title:Supervisor, Snow Removal (Seasonal)

Reporting directly toManager, theSupervisor, Snow Removal is responsible forcoordinating daily work activities, supervising labourers, and ensuring safe and efficient snow removal operations throughout the site. This role will focus on maintaining safe access roads, work areas, and site infrastructure during winter conditions.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Team Supervision & Coordination

• Supervise and coordinate daily snow removal activities across the site, including access roads, work areas, walkways, and other designated areas
• Assign daily tasks and ensure adequate workforce coverage to meet operational requirements
• Provide direction and support to labourers, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard

Reporting & Communication

• Maintain daily records of work completed, workforce activities, equipment issues, and operational progress
• Report daily progress, safety concerns, and operational challenges to management
• Communicate effectively with site personnel and other departments to coordinate snow removal priorities
• Perform hands-on snow removal and general labour duties as required to support site operations

The Ideal Candidate

Education / Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence

Experience / Skills

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience, with a proven ability to lead crews, delegate tasks, and oversee daily operations.
• Experience in snow removal, winter maintenance, construction, mining, or a heavy industrial environment is required.
• Demonstrated experience operating snow removal and mobile equipment, including skid steers, Bobcats, and other compact equipment.
• Experience operating aerial work platforms (AWPs) is an asset.
• Ability to coordinate daily work activities, manage competing priorities, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to conduct toolbox talks, provide clear direction, and prepare daily progress reports.
• Sound knowledge of workplace safety requirements, hazard assessments, and safe work practices in an outdoor operational environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to equipment issues, changing weather conditions, and operational challenges.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour, including snow shovelling, lifting, and working outdoors in challenging weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and maintain effective communication with management.

Work Location & Conditions

This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.

The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.

There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is CA$44-CA$52. Individual compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant education, training, experience, skills, qualifications, and job responsibilities.
