Job summary

Discovery Kidd is hiring a Supervisor, Production & Construction to oversee underground mining operations and ensure safe, efficient production at the Kidd Operations site in Timmins, Ontario. The role reports to the Superintendent, Mucking & Construction and focuses on maximizing equipment use, training staff, and maintaining quality while controlling costs.

A strong safety record and commitment to environmental standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
• Supervisory Common Core is required.
• Full Underground Common Core is required.
• 5+ years' experience in mining is required.
• Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Promote and monitor health, safety and environmental objectives with regular meetings and inspections.
• Supervise production and construction activities, optimizing resources to meet targets and costs.
• Coach staff, identify training needs, and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Review production data, maintenance, downtime and reports to plan activities.
• Propose changes to improve procedures, equipment, and quality for efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and HSE legislation.

The Position:

Reporting to the Superintendent, Mucking & Construction, the Supervisor, Production & Construction's primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Promoting IRS & ensuring health, safety and environmental objectives are met, which can include monthly beat inspections, monthly crew meetings, and monthly supervisor meetings;
• Supervising the business unit's production and construction activities by optimizing material, labour, and equipment use to achieve or exceed quality and production targets as well as financial objectives (cost control and reduction);
• Supervising, directing and coaching employees to ensure their maximum performance, identifying and meeting training needs pertaining to their job, health and safety and the environment;
• Reviewing production, quality control, maintenance, down time and statistical reports and work orders to optimally plan own activities;
• Identifying, recommending and/or implementing changes designed to improve production procedures, equipment performance, working conditions and product quality to maximize the unit's efficiency;
• Ensuring employees comply with company with Company rules, policies, programs and procedures and health, safety and environmental legislation.

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive total compensation package including:

• Annual compensation of CAD$92,000 to CAD$115,000
