The Men’s Recovery Supervisor provides leadership for the daily operations of the Men’s Recovery Program and supervision of the Recovery Coaching Team. Working closely with the Recovery Manager, this role ensures high-quality, trauma-informed, person-centred care through effective staff supervision, coaching, scheduling, and program oversight with and best practice approaches aligned with ALR policies. The Supervisor supports the development and implementation of individualized Personal Service Plans, fosters a Christ-centred and collaborative team culture, maintains strong community partnerships, and promotes effective communication between staff and leadership. The position also contributes to program development, staff and volunteer support, and the spiritual health and overall success of participants and the recovery team.

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The starting range for this position is $31.92 to $34.88 per hour.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• In conjuncture with the Men’s Recovery Manager, Oversee the daily operations of the Men’s Recovery Program, ensuring consistent, high-quality participant care.
• Supervise, coach, and support Recovery Coaches through regular one-on-ones, case consultations, scheduling, on-call support, and performance management.
• Ensure Personal Service Plans are developed and implemented using trauma-informed, person-centred best practices.
• Build strong relationships with participants and provide support in conflict resolution, crisis situations, and discharges.
• Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, training, spiritual development, and annual performance reviews.
• Provide leadership and support to casual staff, practicum students, and volunteers.
• Coordinate staffing, volunteer involvement, and program coverage to meet operational needs.
• Maintain quality standards in case management, documentation, and program delivery.
• Assist with program planning, evaluation, special projects, and the development of new initiatives.
• When needed, facilitate staff meetings, workshops, devotionals, team-building activities, and special events.
• Assist with participant graduation planning and execution.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners, recovery centres, housing providers, and other service agencies.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration between staff, leadership, and community stakeholders.
• Support the development of program vision, culture, and spiritual health in partnership with the Recovery Manager.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

• Minimum 2 years\’ experience in working within the addiction field work is required, with knowledge of issues related to vulnerable men experiencing various barriers including poverty, addiction, mental health.
• Consideration may be given to alternate combinations of lived experience and education.
• Excellent knowledge of alcohol & drug and mental health disorders and the ability to assess concurrent disorders.
• At least 40 hours of training in one or more of these subjects: counselling; crisis and conflict resolution; psychosocial intervention for substance use disorders; and trauma-informed practice. Advanced administrative, interpersonal and time management skills.
• Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential material and situations.
• Excellent supervisory and time management skills.
• Proficient in current Windows based computer operating environment.
• Complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Course.
• Technical Competency—Trauma-Informed Care (Level 3): Help identify negative events that have impacted the client\'s functioning, and develop interventions that emphasize safety, choice, and personal control.

Work is generally performed indoors within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

• Physical Requirements

Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing, walking or reaching for up to 10% of the time. Employee is required to look at a computer screen and use a keyboard for up to 90% of the time. The employee is required to see, talk and hear.

• Work Conditions

Working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate. Work is performed amid normal conditions of dust, odors, fumes, and noises. This position is required to work in an environment often dealing with clients in crisis situations brought about by diverse problems.

• Hours of Work

This position works a rotation of day and evening shifts. Some weekend or evening work may be required. Moderate overtime may be required. Work is performed during the afternoon and evening.

Job requires frequent interaction with the public some of whom may be upset, abusive, and/or violent. Job requires working occasionally in unhealthy conditions, including exposure to bodily fluids, lice and bedbugs. Employee is required to hear information about clients’ lives which may be troubling or upsetting, and may cause emotional issues including vicarious trauma.
