Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is seeking a Supervisor Maintenance, Running Repair to lead mobile maintenance activities at Elkview Operations. You will manage trades, schedule execution, continuous improvement, and staffing to meet company standards.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and cross-team collaboration, with the ability to handle priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive performance improvements on a 4x4 rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Journeyman's ticket and related degree or technical diploma.
• Supervisory experience and materials planning/scheduling experience.
• Advanced Excel/Outlook/Word skills; SAP training will be provided.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mobile maintenance activities and coordinate trades to maintain equipment availability.
• Drive continuous improvement, safety, and environmental programs across site operations.
• Manage daily/weekly schedules and budgets using SIC to meet deadlines.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback; conduct training and vacation planning for skilled trades.
• Ensure PM compliance and keep detailed repair history in CMMS.

About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance, the Supervisor Maintenance, Running Repair will be responsible for all areas of mobile maintenance activity at Elkview Operations. This position combines the responsibilities for trades, schedule execution, continuous improvement, and staffing to ensure company standards are maintained.

This role will operate on a 4x4 schedule rotation consisting of four-day and four-night shifts.

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
• Maintain an environmentally sound maintenance program that holds employees accountable for the proactive application of the site’s environmental programs
• Direct quality maintenance and repair of mine equipment to optimize availability and reliability for production
• Direct the troubleshooting of equipment failures to determine root cause and initiate appropriate remedial action; follow up on current jobs and assist tradespeople as needed
• Ensure Preventative Maintenance compliance and that all repair history is accurately detailed in Computer Maintenance Management Systems
• Provide direct feedback to equipment operators on Operator Driven Reliability (ODR) practices, performances, and address operator concerns
• Manage daily and weekly work schedules to ensure work is complete on time and on budget through usage of Short Interval Controls (SIC)
• Collect and analyze work delay codes to identify challenges with timely completion of scheduled jobs; work with available resources to reduce and/or eliminate identified delays
• Assist in sourcing and requisitioning maintenance supplies, equipment, contractor, overtime, and services within budgeted guidelines
• Complete employee work performance evaluations as per the company’s requirements; coordinate and recommend internal and external training for all skilled labor; maintain vacation schedules
• Ensure Key Performance Indicators are met including downtime hours, schedule compliance, and labor factor
• Collaborate regularly with Central Asset Health

Qualifications and Requirements

• Journey person's ticket, and related degree or technical diploma
• Supervisory experience considered an asset, along with experience in materials acquisition, planning and scheduling
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite®, particularly in Excel, Outlook, and Word; training in SAP will be provided
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

Salary range

123,000 - 145,000 CAD/Year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
