As a central agency, the French Language Services Directorate (FLSD) supports, collaborates with and empowers the Government of Yukon departments and other public bodies to serve and inform the public in French. We foster strong partnerships with departments and stakeholders to improve access to government services in French. We aim at building bilingual capacities across government by providing client-focused services such as translation, training, advice, and operational support.
The Supervisor of French-Language Training and Assessment plays a central role in the division by overseeing the design, delivery and quality of French-language training and proficiency assessment services across government. Reporting to the Manager, Language Policy and Planning, the position ensures that client departments have the language capacity, tools, and support required to deliver services in French.
As the operational lead for French-language training and assessment, the position supervises and mentors French-Language Instructors, establishes service standards and operational procedures, and ensures consistency, quality, and effectiveness of training and assessment practices. The role also provides advice to senior management and client departments on language learning needs, priorities, assessment, and training strategies aligned with organizational and business planning priorities.
This position contributes directly to the Directorate’s strategic objectives of strengthening French-language service capacity, supporting implementation of the government’s French-language service model, and promoting a professional, client-focused, and sustainable approach to language training and assessment across the public service.

Job requirements: This position is in Whitehorse, Yukon, and requires you to work in the office environment. Occasional travel within and outside the Yukon may be required.
