The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic leader who has a genuine desire to support individuals with intellectual disabilities to join the Crisis and Respite Services leadership team in the role of Supervisor. This position is in Saskatoon at McCallum Home.

In this position, you will :
  • Supervise, train, support, coach and monitor the programming and quality of care provided by Disability Programs staff in a 24-hour setting.
  • Provide leadership on the implementation of policies, procedures, programming and services.
  • Work effectively and positively alongside coworkers, direct reports and the management team, ensuring service excellence in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Create and maintain a safe work environment and one where standards and quality of service are met.
  • Focus on the strength and development of all individuals while valuing individuality, independence, choice, dignity, respect, and rights.
  • Liaise, consult and respond to inquiries from a variety of stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate
As our successful candidate, you will :
  • Have experience providing supervision, leadership, guidance, support and direction to a diverse group of employees.
  • Develop and deliver training material.
  • Have experience working with people with intellectual disabilities who display complex support needs.
  • Have experience in the development of behavioural support strategies, quality of life programming and person-centred practices.
  • Have knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, programs, and policies.

Please note that this position may be exposed to the risk of violent situations.

Typically, the requirements for this position would be obtained through a Bachelor's degree in Human Sciences or equivalent. A minimum of two (2) years of post-academic experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities who display complex support needs, supervising / directing and leading the work of others, developing and / or delivering training, is required.

A valid driver's license is required. This position involves supervising shift work and will include shifts between 07 : 00 and 23 : 00, any one of 7 days per week, 365 days of the year. You will work 14 shifts within 3 weeks and are guaranteed an average of 1 in 3 weekends (Saturday-Sunday) off.
