Position Overview
Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years Acute Care nursing experience.
  • Leadership/supervisory experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and system improvements, including skills in workplace re-engineering within a Quality Improvement Plan.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree or Registered Nurse Diploma or College of Licensed Practical Nursing of Manitoba.
  • Health Services Management course or equivalent.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current registration and a member in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba or College of Licensed Practical Nursing of Manitoba.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of all aspects of Regional Acute Care systems and programs, Patient flow and bed utilization.
  • Knowledge of all relevant legislation and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to function within the professional code of ethics, professional standards and legislative requirements of the profession.
  • Ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to program development and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a multi-facility and program system.
  • Ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.
  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
  • Good work and attendance record.
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.
Physical Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
  • May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Will be required to travel to other regional facilities as the position duties may require.
