Job summary

The Town of Innisfil is searching for a dynamic Supervisor, Accounting and Budgets to lead the capital budget process and ensure effective financial management. This role involves overseeing accounting functions and providing essential reports to the Council.

With a focus on innovation and community service, you will drive financial sustainability while collaborating with various departments. Candidates must possess five years’ finance experience, a university degree, and CPA certification.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $98,230 to $125,372 based on a 35-hour week.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 'G' driver's licence and reliable vehicle for corporate business.
  • Availability for evening/weekend meetings or events.

You will lead the coordination of capital budgets and forecasts and the monitoring of capital budget performance in realization of the Town of Innisfil’s Strategic Plan 2030, being true to the values: “Community First. As a member of our Financial Services Leadership Team, the Supervisor, Accounting and Budgets (Capital) will lead the day-to-day accounting, budgeting, and reporting functions related to the Town’s capital program and will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating all aspects of the Town’s capital budget process, including cash flow forecasting, financial analysis and funding strategies.
  • Leading Development Charges Background Study (DCBS) updates, along with a variety of other Finance projects and initiatives.
  • Maintaining the Long-Range Financial Plan (LRFP) and supporting financial forecasting, including reserve forecasting and financial sustainability analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Overseeing capital accounting, tangible capital asset reporting, general ledger reconciliations, and legislated financial reporting requirements.
  • Providing financial reporting, analysis, and support to Council and departments.
Requirements:
  • A university degree in in business, finance, or related discipline.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in accounting and finance field, preferably in a municipal environment.
  • A valid Class "G" driver's licence in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
  • Availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required.

Closing date is June 21, 2026.

The salary range for this position is $98,230 - $125,372 per annum (Based on a 35-hour week) and the successful candidate will be compensated within this range.
