Reporting to the Recycling Location Manager, your focus will be to oversee the activities of movement of scrap through out the operation as well as training, testing and auditing the Recycling Yard operators.

Duties

The successful candidate's primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Proper placement of incoming / outgoing scrap materials and inventory control
  • Supervising scrap yard personnel for the safe and proper handling of all scrap materials entering / exiting the Yard
  • Diagnosis and implementing subsequent solution of equipment breakdown problems
  • Proper operation and utilization of equipment to prevent damage and minimize repair
  • Fully accountable for the performance management of employees which include scheduling, payroll and disciplinary corrective actions
  • Working knowledge of the Manitoba Safety and Health Act & Regulations, Manitoba Employment Standards and all other applicable legislation
  • Overseeing and achieving production targets

Preference will be given to candidates with 5 -7 years experience in a Recycling environment and those that possess excellent communication skills. Previous supervisory experience would be an asset.
