Bird is hiring a Superintendent, Renewables (Turbines) for Industrial East to lead safety and project execution on wind turbine sites in eastern Canada. You will oversee safety programs, coordinate foundations and infrastructure, manage schedules, and direct subcontractors and field teams to meet scope, safety, and quality goals.

Qualifikationen

• Must have superintendent experience in renewable energy, power, industrial, or heavy civil construction.
• Wind energy construction experience is a strong asset.
• Solid understanding of civil construction, electrical infrastructure, site logistics, and sequencing.
• Experience managing subcontractors, field crews, equipment, and multiple fronts.
• Ability to read/interpret construction drawings, specs, and schedules.
• Strong leadership, planning, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel and work at project sites as required.

What You Will Be Working On

• Provide safety leadership through implementation of Bird Safety Program and monitoring of safety performance of field staff and subcontractors.
• Coordinate turbine foundations, access roads, crane pads, collector systems, substations, and balance-of-plant activities.
• Develop short-term work plans and monitor progress against the project schedule.
• Coordinate turbine deliveries, heavy lifts, installation activities, and commissioning readiness.
• Provide people leadership through establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with field staff and subcontractors in order to promote positive morale.
• Supervision and development of site team members through regular feedback, training and coaching; timely completion of performance evaluations.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of the project schedule.
• Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices to ensure scopes, terms and conditions are properly executed.
• Identify and advise of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties, and other project issues; works collaboratively with Project Manager to resolve issues.
• Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance with regards to safety and scope of work.
• Ensure quality of subcontractor workmanship and building material.
• Ensure sufficient manpower is provided to achieve safety, schedule and quality objectives.
• Maintain daily paperwork including field reports, safety inspections, schedule updates, etc.
