Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Superintendent to lead construction management on large, complex projects in Canada. The role coordinates design, budget and schedule with the Project Manager, Owners, Engineers and Architects to ensure timely delivery within budget.

You will mentor teams, run project meetings, and advise management on risks, cash flow and schedule challenges, maintaining project alignment and quality across disciplines. The position is on-site and requires strong leadership across trades.

Qualifications

• Construction related degree and 6 to 8 years of construction experience
• Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control and engineering drawings
• Ability to identify problem situations, evaluate alternatives, produce workable solutions and lead a large team to successful completion
• Ability to manage trade relationships and ensure schedule is on track for project success

Superintendent Responsibilities

• Provide overall construction management, including design, budget and schedule, in conjunction with the Project Manager, Owners, Engineers and Architects to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget on large complex projects.
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing progression.
• Mentor project team members to ensure career growth and development.
• Advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences and schedule difficulties while assisting in resolving conflicts.
• Be jointly responsible to monitor, interpret and forecast a project’s cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow.

Qualifications

• You have a construction related degree and 6 to 8 years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience working on large projects (Design Build, P3, Residential Towers, Commercial, Institutional or Healthcare).
• You have an advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control and engineering drawings.
• You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes, produce workable solutions and lead a large team to successful completion.
• You have the ability to manage trade relationships and ensure schedule is on track for project success.
• The salary range for this position is $135,000 - $185,000.
