Working with our New Ventures & Business Excellence team in Calgary, this will be a full‑time student position from May through August 2026. During your summer, you will gain exposure to the energy industry by attending sessions hosted by subject matter experts and will have an opportunity to showcase your learnings with your student network. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
  • AI Strategy & IntegrationDesign and implement AI‑driven solutions aligned with strategic business objectivesCollaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify high‑impact use cases for AI and automation across commercial and strategic domainsRecommend adoption of already proven AI‑driven solutions long‑term effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Data Science & ModelingExplore opportunities for predictive models for market forecasting, pricing optimization and commercial risk analysisApply machine learning and deep learning techniques to extract insights from structured and unstructured data (e.g., market reports, transactional data, APIs)
  • Workflow AutomationBuild and maintain automation pipelines for commercial reporting, performance dashboards, and strategic planning toolsIntegrate AI capabilities into existing systems to streamline decision support and reduce manual interventions
  • Governance & EthicsEnsure AI models comply with internal governance frameworks and ethical standardsConduct AI risk assessments and maintain documentation for transparency and audit readiness
  • Stakeholder EngagementTranslate technical findings into actionable business insights for senior leadershipProvide training and support to commercial teams on AI tools and capabilities
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program at a Canadian post‑secondary institution, and must be returning to undergraduate studies after the work term
  • Enrolled in 3rd or 4th year Bachelor of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or other similar post‑secondary programs
  • Ability to work collaboratively cross‑functionally, acting as a bridge between technical teams and business units, translating complex models into business value
  • Coding expertise and experience with AI tools such as Co‑pilot is required
