Job summary

Parks Canada- New Brunswick Field Unit is seeking Student Guide-Interpreters for the summer of 2027 at Carleton Martello Tower National Historic Site in Saint John, New Brunswick. You will welcome visitors, provide orientation, and share information in both official languages across the Visitor Centre and tower.

Applicants must be enrolled students, with experience in public speaking and cash handling, and be willing to work irregular hours and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• This job requires enrollment as a full-time or part-time student in an accredited program.
• Experience in public speaking and direct interaction with the public is preferred.
• Experience handling cash and operating a POS system is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet and orient visitors at Carleton Martello Tower National Historic Site.
• Respond to questions and complaints from visitors.
• Share information about Parks Canada sites and Saint John attractions.
• Present history of the site to diverse audiences.
• Collect revenue using POS and complete daily sales reports.
• Perform light custodial tasks and assist in events.
