Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Software Intern to work with our engineering teams on projects spanning from orbital rockets to ground systems and moon landers. You will gain real-world experience, receive mentorship, and participate in events to learn about other parts of the organization.

Basic qualifications include U.S. citizenship or equivalent, current enrollment in a graduate program with at least one semester remaining, and availability for a minimum of 15 weeks full-time.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program and have at least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
• Available to work full time for a minimum of 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for mission and vision.

Responsibilities

• As part of a passionate team, you will contribute to the software development life cycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance.
• Based upon your placement, your projects may involve many aspects of applied systems analysis, software testing, quality assurance, DevOps, data analysis.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand their needs and design solutions that accelerate all phases of vehicle development, testing, and operations.
• Troubleshoot and fix software issues at multiple levels, including both server-side and client side.

Avionics Software Intern projects

vary but can include the design, development and testing of avionics hardware and software for programs ranging from orbital rockets, ground systems, test stands, to moon landers.

• Familiarity with rich user experience development in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks like React.

• Experience developing and testing real‑time embedded systems, vehicle or industrial control systems, gaming systems, device drivers, or mobile devices.

We offer housing and relocation support. Interns** are responsible fordaily transportation to and from their work locations. **

Hourly compensation for applicant is: $38.00
