Job summary

Simon-Kucher in Toronto is seeking an Associate Consultant Intern, Data Science, to apply AI/ML to large datasets and help shape digital pricing and growth strategies. You will work with a global team, gain hands-on experience in analytics, and contribute to client-ready insights.

The role targets students enrolled in undergrad or master programs with a graduation window around May–June 2028, strong Python/SQL skills, and familiarity with ETL and ML workflows.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in business, statistics, economics, marketing, finance, mathematics, or related field
• Expected graduation date between May and June 2028
• 0 years of work experience; consulting/ML/AI club experience valued
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data extraction, transformation and analysis
• Understanding ETL processes and ML workflow
• Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI/Tableau and strong English communication

How You Will Create An Impact

• Apply AI and machine learning to large-scale datasets to solve strategic business problems, while designing scalable analytics solutions and data pipeline.
• Contribute to the team’s project planning and execution by ensuring alignment of project delivery to client needs and objectives.
• Advise and support customers in the development of AI-based products across various business sectors (mobility, IoT, industry, consumer goods, financial services, and non-profit organizations).
• Conduct predictive analyses by selecting, testing, and applying machine learning and artificial intelligence methods.
• Provide exceptional client service, communicate effectively, and handle challenging situations.
• Become part of the growing and multicultural team, working with internal and external business and technology experts from around the world.
• Work closely with colleagues who challenge and support each other, fostering a culture of mentorship, continuous learning, and belonging.

Your Profile

• We’re looking for sharp, commercially minded individuals who love solving business challenges and translating data into strategic decisions.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s program at an accredited university/college, pursuing a degree in business, statistics, economics, marketing, finance, mathematics, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between May and June 2028.
• 0 years of work experience. Consulting, Machine Learning, AI clubs or industry group experience is highly valued.
• Ability to intern for 9 weeks from June 7 to August 6, 2027.
• Proficiency in both Python and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis and a demonstrated understanding of ETL processes and of the general machine learning workflow.
• Experience with visualization tools such as PowerBI and/or Tableau.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English, both written and verbal, with a client-focused attitude.
• A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Enjoys learning and stay up to date on new technologies and strategies in the market.

The salary for this position in Toronto is $40 CAD/hr. plus potential annual performance-based bonus. Compensation may vary depending on relevant experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs.
