QA Technician – Junior Maternity Leave Coverage (Full Time) – Burnaby, Canada

We are seeking a Junior Quality Control Technician to join our team for a 14‑month maternity leave coverage. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will support various quality assurance activities to help ensure compliance with QA requirements in a unionized setting. This role is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, adaptable, and comfortable multitasking.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
  • Check and verify the accuracy and adequacy of materials certification for stock, commercial, and documentation packages.
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers as required to complete assigned duties.
  • Prepare manufacturing document packages and inspection records for submittal to customers.
  • Data entry and report generation.
  • Perform related clerical duties including document filing, copying, scanning, etc.
  • Assist with the investigation and analysis of non‑conforming condition reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of departmental manuals, procedures, and forms.
  • Attend meetings and report results.
  • Conduct special process monitoring for in‑house compliance to established and approved procedures.
  • Conduct in‑house audits under supervision to establish compliance with company quality assurance procedures.
  • May be required to visit suppliers' facilities to conduct contract surveillance and witness testing and examination as required.
  • Support, cooperate with, and participate in company‑wide EHS Management System, which includes following all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing industrial setting, minimum of high‑school or vocational school graduate, courses or training in quality assurance with knowledge of ISO standards and documentation preparation, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and ability to perform in a team‑oriented environment. A great opportunity for recent graduates.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE OR KNOWLEDGE (ASSETS)
  • Mechanical drawing, welding, and machine shop practices.
  • SAP software.
  • Non‑destructive examination.
  • Technical report writing.

  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, military, medical, or other industry related fields are transferable for the right candidate.
