Job summary

Grasslands Public Schools in Alberta is seeking qualified substitute teachers to join our division across all locations, grades and subjects. You will deliver prepared lessons, manage classrooms, and provide a stable, supportive learning environment for students.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor of Education, Alberta teaching certification, and the ability to collaborate with staff, communicate with families, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education required.
• Pre-service teacher preparation program from an approved institution.
• Valid Alberta Teaching Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide a stimulating learning environment and deliver curriculum enabling student growth.
• Foster an educational environment grounded in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Identify student learning needs appropriate to age and grade level.
• Plan and deliver approved curriculum including those with special needs.
• Provide direct support and/or intervention to maximize achievement and well-being.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary student services team to discuss student needs.
• Ensure personalized resources and supports are implemented effectively.
• Provide guidance to student support staff to respond to student strengths and needs.
• Use a variety of assessment tools to evaluate and communicate progress.
• Meet with parents to discuss students’ learning progress.
• Supervise extracurricular and after-school activities as required.
• Attend meetings, seminars, and in-service training sessions.
• Serve as a positive role model for students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
