The Role

The Department of Applied Science and Technology is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable Subject Matter Experts (SME) to design and develop curriculum for the Instrumentation Engineering Technology program.

SMEs will ensure that developed courses align with the program learning outcomes Canadian Technology Standards (Instrumentation Technician) TAC National Accreditation criteria and best practices in pedagogy. An Instrumentation Engineering Technology Diploma a strong understanding of curriculum and experience in the field is required. This is a part-time remote curriculum development role. SMEs are paid on a per course basis.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop engaging relevant and academically rigorous curriculum that aligns with the program objectives.
  • Develop course content and source learning material that will provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge ininstrumentation engineering technology concepts and theory.
  • Collaborate with faculty members and Northwestern Polytechnic departments to ensure content compatibility.
  • Ensure curriculum and course learning objectives align with the TAC National Accreditation criteria.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have an Instrumentation Engineering Technology Diploma and five (5) years of industry / post-secondary experience. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include :

  • Curriculum development or instructional design experience is an asset.
  • Strong organizational project management and communication skills.
  • Self-driven team-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Creative and motivated with the ability to think innovatively.
