Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Student Food Services Worker for the Dal Food Services team in Halifax. You will help prep food, follow safety guidelines, and build strong customer service and social skills on campus.

Prior food service experience isn’t required, as we’re looking for students ready to be trailblazers. You will work with dedicated leaders to support smooth operations and guest satisfaction on site.

Qualifications

• Food service experience is an asset.
• WHMIS and Food Safe certifications are assets.
• Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Additional certification may be required by work location.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and builds food items according to standardized recipes and directions
• Properly stores food in accordance with standards
• Sets up workstations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, steam tables, etc.
• Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes workstations
• Serves food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating the customers’ needs
• Replenishes food items and ensure product is stocked to appropriate levels
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including food safety and sanitation
• Ensures security of company assets

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations
