Job summary

British Columbia Public School Employers' Association is seeking a Certified Education Assistant with Crossing Guard duties for Charlie Lake Elementary School. The role includes 4 hours of Education Assistant work daily and 1 hour of crossing guard duties, five days a week, during a 10-month school year.

The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering educational programs, work with students with diverse needs, and participate in safety and student care activities.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Education Assistant Certificate with relevant training.
• POPARD training or experience preferred.
• First Aid Certificate may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to implement educational programs.
• Prepare/locate instructional materials and learning centres.
• Operate classroom equipment and adaptive technology.
• Observe and record student progress per IEP and report to teachers.
• Maintain records and manage files.
• Support behaviour management plans and safety routines.
• Deliver health and personal care assistance as needed.
• Attend required professional development sessions.
• Assist with program delivery for students with special needs.
