Job description
POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Supervisor – Landfill Operations is responsible for assisting with tasks and duties related to coordinating, evaluating and monitoring solid waste collection, diversion and disposal operations and programs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists with coordinating, evaluating and monitoring programs
  • Undertakes research in areas of solid waste management
  • Assists with promotion and education initiatives
  • Assists with performing field audits
  • Data Entry
  • Performs other such related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
  • Must be a secondary school graduate & enrolled in an engineering technology, sustainability or environmental studies related program at a college or university
Skills & Abilities
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Proficient in the use of computers and current related software (Word, Excel)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Ontario Drivers Licence, or equivalent
  • Must meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Will be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation
  • Must remain a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
  • May be required to provide a successful driver’s abstract
  • Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
