Position overview

Technical position primarily focused on supporting the Radio Network Engineers in their day to day tasks through a combination of field work and in-office document preparation and review. The position is intended to provide Engineering students an opportunity to experience many elements of a career in Radio Network Engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain technical maps
  • Generate network simulations based on projected scenarios
  • Drive Test Data Collection and Presentation
  • Conduct field surveys & site evaluations of existing and potential future wireless sites
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Develop tools to streamline engineering and performance related processes / evaluations
Qualifications
  • Electrical or Computer Engineer Student (specialization in Telecommunications desirable)
  • Knowledge of current wireless technologies an asset
  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License
  • Excellent computer and database query skills (VB, Oracle)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Knowledge of MapInfo or similar GIS application as asset
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Highly motivated and results-driven individual
