Job summary

Sun Life is seeking a Best Practice Consultant to join the GRS Operations team. You will support improvements, document processes, and drive best practices across Savings/Accumulation and Payout Annuities.

Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma, PMP, business analysis, project management, or related accreditation is an asset.
• Experience supporting business analysis, project coordination, process improvement, operations, or change activities.
• Understanding of Sun Life and GRS Operations, including systems, products, and processes, is an asset.
• Undergraduate degree in Business or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process redesign across GRS Operations.
• Work with partners to understand needs, gather information, and develop improved processes.
• Represent GRS Operations on projects and change initiatives affecting operations.
• Support stakeholder communication, track progress, document decisions, and escalate risks.
• Bridge gap between Operations and IT by documenting requirements and validating impacts.
• Support change management activities including communications and training materials.
• Create and improve knowledge content, procedures, and job aids for consistent operations.
• Support GRS and Payout Annuity tools and governance activities.
• Assist with annual and recurring operational activities (RRSP, year-end readiness, audits).

Job Description

We're looking for a Best Practice Consultant to join our Group Retirement Services (GRS) Operations team. This role is a great opportunity for someone who is motivated by continuous improvement, enjoys solving business problems, and wants to build strong project, process, and operational knowledge in a collaborative environment.

As a Best Practice Consultant, you'll support leaders and business partners across GRS Operations on projects, process improvements, and change initiatives. You'll help ensure our teams have effective processes, clear documentation, and practical best practices that support strong Client service across Savings/Accumulation and Payout Annuities.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring curiosity, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. You can organize information, ask thoughtful questions, analyze business needs, and work with others to move initiatives forward. You are comfortable supporting change, communicating clearly, and building positive working relationships with partners across the organization.

Responsibilities

As a Best Practice Consultant, you will:

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process redesign activities across GRS Operations. This may include documenting current-state processes, identifying gaps, supporting analysis, and helping implement practical improvements.
• Work with business partners and leaders to understand operational needs, gather information, and support the development of improved processes and best practice solutions.
• Represent GRS Operations on projects and change initiatives that impact business operations, including process improvements, digital initiatives, regulatory changes, product changes, and operational readiness activities.
• Support stakeholder communication by helping clarify expectations, track progress, document decisions, and escalating risks or issues when needed.
• Help bridge the gap between Operations and IT by documenting business requirements, validating process impacts, and supporting end-to-end understanding of operational changes.
• Support change management activities, including communications, training material updates, process documentation, and adoption support for impacted teams.
• Create, maintain, and improve knowledge management content, process documentation, procedures, and job aids to support consistent operations.
• Support GRS and Payout Annuity tools, including micro-automation tools, by helping document processes, identify enhancement opportunities, and support governance and risk management activities.
• Support annual and recurring operational activities, such as RRSP deadline readiness, year-end readiness, audit support, and other business readiness activities.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
