Qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work autonomously once trained.
• Excellent analytical, communication, report writing and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Cross section preparation of electronic printed circuit assemblies & metallurgical assessments of solder joints.
• Incoming quality inspection and qualification of printed circuit boards and components.
• Support process qualifications and manufacturing failure analysis of electronic assemblies.
• Internal customer interface and technical report writing.
• Application of electronics industry and customer standards to evaluate quality and solve problems.
• Hand soldering of electronic circuit assemblies and components.
• Use of equipment such as: x-ray, scanning electron microscopes, optical microscopes, cross-sectioning saws, grinders and polishers.
• This role may also support the Mechanical Engineering Test Lab and the Environment Chamber Lab as business needs require.
• Possible operation of FTIR, Ion Chromatography and other chemical testing as business needs arise.

Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

The hourly wage is determined by the years of study completed and is non‑negotiable as per company policy.

Hourly Wage: $23-30 CAD/hr

Experience: No Formal Experience Required.

Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a formal 16-month University Internship/Co-Op Program and are now completing the 3rd year of a 4-year Materials Engineering program or 4th year of a 5-year Materials Engineering program.
