Structural Technician – Aircraft Conversion Program

Location: Abbotsford, BC

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (10-hour days, occasional Saturday overtime)

About the Role

Join a leading team in the aviation industry and play a key role in an exciting aircraft conversion program. We specialize in transforming Q400 aircraft into state‑of‑the‑art aerial firefighting machines. This position offers hands‑on structural work on a variety of aircraft, including Q400, RJ85, Turbo Commanders, and Air Tractors, with a strong focus on heavy maintenance and precision repairs.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform structural repairs and maintenance on multiple aircraft types.
  • Lead and support Q400 conversions for aerial firefighting operations.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across different facilities.
  • Apply human factors and WHMIS principles in daily tasks.
  • Utilize your own basic tooling to complete assignments effectively.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience: 5+ years in aircraft structures and heavy maintenance.
  • Skills: Proficiency in sheet metal work, structural repairs, and aviation maintenance.
  • Preferred: Hands‑on experience with Q400 aircraft; familiarity with Dash 8, RJ85, and Turbo Props.
  • Bonus: Exposure to northern operations (Yukon / NWT) and B737 experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a positive, adaptable attitude.

This is a Contract position based out of Abbotsford, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 – $55.00 / hr.
