Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm is seeking a Structural Project Engineer in Calgary, Alberta. This role involves providing technical leadership and overseeing engineering deliverables for various projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, P.Eng. status, and at least 4 years of relevant experience. You will design and supervise construction work while performing site reviews. This is a one-year contract position with a competitive hourly rate.

Job description

Agilus is recruiting for a Structural Project Engineer in the utilities industry in Calgary, Alberta.

The Structural Project Engineer is responsible for technical leadership as well as oversight and production of engineering deliverables for internal and external customers.

The Structural Project Engineer will be part of a project team that works on downtown network, substations, distribution and transmission projects.

A typical day:
  • Design and construction supervision of underground network, distribution structures, substation buildings, and structures.
  • Design of concrete and steel structures such as structural slabs, walls, beams, pile foundations and steel superstructures.
  • Work with internal and external customers and technical experts.
  • Determine the complete project scope including identifying all required technical deliverables, interdependencies, and any risks that are technical in nature.
  • Plan and produce detailed designs for new construction, additions, modifications, maintenance and changes to EPC distribution and transmission infrastructure.
  • Oversee the scope and quality of engineering deliverables.
  • Monitor compliance to project schedules.
Successful candidates will have:
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
  • P.Eng. status with The Association of Professionals in Engineering and Geoscience in Alberta (APEGA).
  • 4+ years of experience with relevant background in Structural Design, Project Engineering and construction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively deliver on project expectations and communicate with team members.
  • Must be able and willing to conduct site reviews in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Must hold a valid Class 5 License.

Total rewards: One year contract with opportunity for extension. Competitive hourly rate. Preferred rates for benefit coverage available.
