Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Structural Analyst to apply physics-based methods to static and dynamic structural problems for space vehicles. You will develop FE models, perform acceleration and vibration analyses, and support mechanism trades.

A strong foundation in structural fundamentals and hands-on tool experience is required. This role is part of the Lunar Permanence unit, contributing to safe, scalable lunar transport systems.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience analyzing structural systems for space/aerospace vehicles or structures.
  • Strong fundamentals in static/dynamic structural analysis.
  • Experience with physics-based methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and commercial tools).
  • Passion for spacecraft structural/environmental loads development and validation.

  • Solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based methods.
  • Perform acceleration, shock, and vibration analyses.
  • Develop, refine, and validate Finite Element Models; correlate with tests.

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

We are looking for a Structural Analyst to use their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to join our team and positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools)
  • Acceleration, shock, and vibration analysis
  • Finite Element Model development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests
  • Solid foundation of structural static/dynamic fundamentals
  • Support configuration development and trade studies of separation mechanisms.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical,aerospaceor civil engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in structural analysis of space/aerospace vehicles/structures/mechanism’s
  • Solid foundation of structural static/dynamic fundamentals
  • Passion for spacecraft structural/environmental loads development/validation
  • Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools)

Base Pay Range for:

CA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35CO applicants is $90,934.00 - $127,307.25WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35
